The Antminer S21 has just been release by Bitmain,
but our team alrady published an unboxing video on youtube!
We have been testing the device for 72 hours now, and here’s our first thoughts.
With the rated hashrate of 200TH/s and 3550W of power consumption, the 17.5 J/TH efficiency is just unbeatable
and will redefine the Bitcoin mining game forever for all ASIC manufacturers.
Design
The machine is 400mm long, 195 wide, and 290mm tall, and produced in a similar design
that we used to with the S19 series. A significant change however is the power cable,
which is the new Antwire cable, that is a C20 to P13 power cable, that will match
the machine’s P14 Socket connection which is new and perhabs most customers not familiar with.
This new cable comes with a security implementation
that holds the power cord into the socket so that cannot be accidentally plugged off from the miner.
Testing
In our 72-hour test period, the miner was very stable and consistent, with an average hashrate of 203 TH/s,
sometimes achieving 210-211 TH/s as well. The unit experienced a short restart after 48 hours,
where the power voltage rises or dropped drastically and the Antminer system automatically
shut down the machine to avoid any damage to its hardware.
After the restart, the miner quickly joined the NiceHash pool again and started hashing,
and has been running without any issue in our test environment with optimal temperatures.
With this added security feature, we can see that the new S21 machines
will shut down if your current voltage drops or increases rapidly, ensuring hardware lifespan.
This feature can be significantly useful for larger operations and mining farms.
Temperatures
The Antminer S21 has run at very low temperatures, never exceeding 74C in the test environment.
Heat management is absolute perfection in this miner, keeping the whole system stable at all times.

Noise Level
The miner is rated for 75db noise level, however upon system startup, it can go significantly over this estimated rate,
being louder than some of the other machines we worked with. Once the system is up and running
(which takes roughly 3 minutes, with power initilation) it becomes much quieter, operating noticeably lower decibel than
IceRiver machines and other competition (or even older S19 machines), can be big factors for retail buyers.
Lower operating noise level & more stable operating system
Firmware
The S21’s operating system and firmware have been very stable, and the dashboard is responsive and clear,
it is exactly what we are used to with other Atnminer series. Bitmain has been in the industry
for the last 5 years, with the company opening almost a decade ago. The Antminer was the flagship series
for Bitcoin miners around the world, and the S21 will be a worthy new king to replace.
Conclusion
The new Bitmain Antminer S21 is one of the most anticipated releases in 2024, and we can gladly say it is worth the wait.
With 200 TH/s mining hashrate, 17.5 J/TH efficiency, stable operating system, and temperatures,
this miner runs smoother than any of the recent miners that we have been testing in our office.
This new generation Bitcoin miner will be the flagship model for the upcoming years..
