Industrial Mining Infrastructure

What is a Mining Container — and Why Does it Change Everything?

A mining container is the fastest, most cost-efficient way to deploy large-scale ASIC mining capacity. Rather than building out a conventional data centre — pouring concrete, running custom electrical infrastructure, and sourcing cooling plant separately — a container delivers a complete, factory-tested mining facility in a single shipment. Lian Li and Bitmain containers ship with busbars, PDUs, cooling systems, rack frames, cable management, and ventilation all pre-integrated. You supply the land, the grid connection, and the miners. The container supplies everything else.

Deployment Time

~2 weeks

vs 6–18 months for a custom build-out

Capacity Range

50–500 ASICs

per 20–40 ft container depending on type

Power Range

200 kW–3 MW

Scalable from 1 unit to full site

Modular Expansion

Add containers as capacity grows

Three Container Types

Air-Cooled, Hydro-Cooled & Immersion Containers

Mining containers come in three cooling configurations. The right choice depends on your hardware, power density targets, site climate, and operational requirements.

Air-Cooled Container

Standard

High-volume forced-air ventilation using industrial axial fans and structured hot-aisle / cold-aisle separation inside a steel container shell. Compatible with all standard air-cooled ASIC miners. The most widely deployed container format globally and the lowest upfront infrastructure cost.

Works with all standard ASIC miners

Lowest infrastructure cost

Simple servicing — standard ASIC procedures

High noise — requires site acoustic management

Lower hashrate density vs liquid-cooled types

Performance degrades in high ambient temps

Best for

Farms in cool climates, operations using standard Antminers / WhatsMiner fleets, first container deployment

Hydro Container

High Efficiency

Purpose-built for Bitmain Antminer Hydro series machines. An integrated CDU loop, manifolds, quick-disconnect hose fittings, and built-in dry cooler or external heat rejection module come pre-installed. Miners bolt into racks and connect to the closed water loop in minutes. Operates near-silently at PUE of ~1.03.

Near-silent operation (~45 dB)

PUE ~1.03 — minimal cooling overhead

30–50% extended ASIC hardware lifespan

Higher hashrate per container than air-cooled

Requires Hydro-compatible ASIC miners

Higher per-unit investment than air-cooled

Best for

Operators running Bitmain Hydro ASICs, noise-sensitive sites, high-density mid-scale deployments

Immersion Container

Max Density

Houses multiple single-phase or two-phase immersion tanks filled with dielectric fluid inside a weatherproof container shell. Standard air-cooled ASICs are submerged entirely, eliminating all internal chip temperatures as a constraint. Achieves the highest possible hashrate density and the lowest achievable chip operating temperatures of any cooling method.

Maximum hashrate density — 5× air-cooled

Works with any standard ASIC — no special hardware

Longest ASIC lifespan of any cooling type

Highest infrastructure and fluid cost

Fluid handling required for maintenance

More complex operations — trained staff required

Best for

Large industrial operations, space-constrained sites, maximum density mandates, operators with liquid cooling expertise

Plug-and-Play Infrastructure

Everything Pre-Built. Nothing Left to Source.

The value proposition of a mining container over a self-built facility is simple: every infrastructure component is already there. When a Lian Li or Bitmain container arrives on site, you connect the incoming grid supply to the main breaker, plug in your internet uplink, and start sliding miners into the racks. There is no need to source PDUs separately, design a power distribution topology, run cable trays, or calculate cooling plant sizing — all of that engineering is already done.

Bitmain containers are engineered specifically around Antminer hardware density and power envelopes. Lian Li containers are available in configurations optimised for both hydro-cooled and air-cooled deployments, with heavy-duty steel construction rated for outdoor deployment in a wide range of climate zones. Both brands deliver factory-tested infrastructure with documented power distribution and cooling performance specs.

FAQ

Common Questions About Mining Containers

A mining container is a self-contained, purpose-built enclosure (typically 20ft or 40ft) that houses ASIC miners with integrated power distribution, cooling infrastructure, rack mounting and cable management. It ships as a plug-and-play unit — connect power and internet, load your miners, and start hashing.

We stock air-cooled, hydro-cooled and immersion containers from Bitmain and Lian Li. Air-cooled containers use industrial fans and filtered intakes. Hydro containers include integrated manifolds and CDU infrastructure. Immersion containers house dielectric fluid tanks. Contact us for model-specific details.

A standard 20ft air-cooled container typically holds 60-120 ASIC miners depending on model. A 40ft container accommodates 120-250+ miners. Hydro and immersion containers achieve 30-50% higher density. Check each product listing for exact capacity or contact our team for configuration advice.

A 20ft air-cooled container supports 200-400 kW; a 40ft container handles 600 kW-1.2 MW. Hydro containers can achieve even higher density. You need an appropriately rated transformer and metered grid connection. We provide full electrical specs for your grid connection engineer.

Air-cooled containers produce approximately 65-75 dB externally (attenuated from 85+ dB inside). Hydro containers are significantly quieter at 45-55 dB externally. For noise-sensitive sites, hydro containers or professional hosting are recommended alternatives.

Air-cooled containers include industrial extraction fans, filtered intakes and exhaust systems sized for full miner load. Hydro containers include integrated coolant manifolds and CDU mounting. All containers ship with cooling infrastructure pre-installed and tested.

Containers include weatherproof seals, insulated walls, filtered air intakes and temperature monitoring. For extreme climates (below -20C or above +45C), supplemental heating or cooling may be needed. Contact us with your site climate for specific recommendations.

You need a level foundation (concrete pad or compacted gravel), grid power connection at the required capacity, internet uplink and adequate clearance for airflow and maintenance access. Site preparation should begin before the container ships. We provide detailed site requirement documents with every order.
